INSIGHTS/ The Investor: Max Klement (Novo Ventures) - Planning your fundraising strategy

Max started his career at Hummingbird Bioscience, as a member of the founding team he led the development of the lead program and supported the companies Seed and Series A financing. After joining Eden Biologics, a biologics CDMO, he supported the companies Joint Venture with Sanofi and led the Process Development team for a number of biosimilar products.

Before joining Novo Ventures, Max was a Principal at BGV, a life science venture capital firm specialized in early-stage investments, where he led multiple company creation initiatives and Series A investments.

Whatever the stage of your startup, whatever your goals, whatever your valuation, one thing remains the same. You need to create a fundraising strategy.

A fundraising strategy outlines, simply put, when, how much and how you plan to go about raising funds. A fundraising strategy is ideally a written document. The very process of drafting this document should invite important conversations and encourage a valuable thinking process.

Your fundraising strategic plan needs reliable groundwork in order to properly position you in front of the right people.
