Simon is currently a board member at Novartis and is chairman of Belgian AgTech company Biotalys NV. Prior to taking on these board roles, he was CEO of MorphoSys AG from its inception until 2019. He co-founded MorphoSys after holding academic positions in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge, UK; as Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; and as Associate in the Chemistry Department of the ETH in Zurich. Simon started his career in the biotech industry with ImmunoGen Inc. in Boston, MA., where he was also an Associate at Harvard Medical School.
