INSIGHTS/The Expert: Daisy Dowling: Workparent - One person, two roles: no contradictions—and no apologies.

Daisy Dowling is the Founder and CEO of Workparent. She is also the author of Workparent: The Complete Guide to Succeeding on the Job, Staying True to Yourself, and Raising Happy Kids.

Daisy’s work centers on a simple, bold idea: that with the right support and insights, you can earn a living and build your career while being a wonderful mother or father – and stay true to yourself in the process.

From reading many of her articles in Harvard Business Review and talking to Daisy, I can attest: Daisy brings a uniquely pragmatic and supportive approach to her work with both individual and institutional partners.

Before founding Workparent in 2016, Daisy served as Managing Director and Global Head of Talent Development for Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset management firm; Principal of Kiddy & Partners, a global leadership development and business-psychology advisor; and Vice President of the Pine Street senior leadership development team at Goldman Sachs, amongst other roles.

Here are a few of the things that we will be talking about:

  • HOW TO TAME WORKING PARENT GUILT - AND FEEL BETTER, NOW

  • STRATEGIES FOR EXHAUSTED WORKING PARENTS

  • AWAY FROM THE KIDS

  • HOW TO WIN BACK WORKING PARENT TIME

AND

  • HOW TO SHOW YOUR TEAM YOU'RE A WORKING PARENT ALLY

Being a workparent is hard and this session will give you strategies and tools.

Working parenthood isn’t just about obvious milestones or achieving in ways that other people applaud.  It’s also about perseverance and consistency, making your own authentic choices, and showing up for the people you care about most.  Your working-parent accomplishments, while enormous, won’t land on your LinkedIn profile or performance review, and may not bring you any high-fives.

They’re quieter, and more personal….which means that they may not feel like valid “accomplishments” at all. Let's change that.

A proud working parent herself, Daisy lives in New York City with her (working-dad) husband and two young children.
